The hill and the peasant world
The route offers the possibility of approaching one of the most characteristic elements of the cultural landscape of the Amalfi Coast, the terracing which represents the dominant graphics of the slopes of the southern Lattari Mountains.
The terracing is not an element in itself but is part of a system, whose understanding can lead to the heart of the territory.
The channeling system of spring waters or the distribution of torrential ones is still functioning in the most exploited areas.
Visitors, following this interpretation, can therefore not only understand the characteristics of that economy that has transformed the Amalfi Coast but also learn what has left of those transformations of which the macroscopic aspect is the terracing but also the canalization systems and the pergola cultivation method.
The door of the route in Furore, famous for its DOC wine of the Costiera, introducing you to this world that is otherwise difficult to perceive following the classic visit tours.
The itinerary is practicable through movements by own car or using public means of transport to reach involved centres; in a later time it is recommended to move, within single municipalities, along pedestrian roads, made up of steps.
